Financial Aid FAQs from NAFSA: Association of International Educators.
Did you know that your Financial Aid can travel with
you? As long as you are carrying the minimum number
of hours to qualify for Federal Financial Aid, you
will be able to utilize your Financial Aid funds to
pay for a study abroad experience.
Please note: You are responsible for keeping up with
the published UAB dates of Financial Aid
disbursement. This information is important when
deciding on the dates of your program.
In most cases you will be responsible for payment
of your program before you receive your Federal Aid. You need to discuss the fact that you have Federal Aid
with your program provider as well as with the UAB Financial Aid Office.
Your PACT,
GI Bill, and
Vocational Rehabilitation funds may be eligible for use toward your study abroad
program. Contact UAB Student Accounting for more information on these programs.
