Come study in Tuscany, Italy! A two-week study institute set in a picturesque 14th century villa on a mountainside in Tuscany Learn about the counseling profession in Italy from Italian mental health professionals (including counselors, psychiatrists, and social workers) PLUS study with nationally known counseling professors will lead seminars related to their specialties in counseling. Visit ancient Italian cities on day trips including Florence, Pisa, Assisi, Siena, Greve, Lucca, and San Gimignano. This institute offers the comfort and security of a planned itinerary that includes an American guide who is fluent in Italian. Participants stay the entire two-weeks in the same room in a magnificent 14th century villa that features a spectacular view of the Tuscan hillside. Frequent visits to a small Italian village are possible that provide a flavor of Italy that can only be experienced in the rural countryside. In addition, all of the major cities in Tuscany will be visited, including two days in the culturally rich city of Florence. The Villa:

Credit Options (All ODU credits can be applied as elective credit toward the UAB Counselor Education Masters or Ed.S. degrees and with special approval by UAB Dept. of Psychology and UAB Dept. of Counselor Education, UAB Psychology majors with advanced standing may be able to earn credit toward their degree):
- 3 graduate credits in counseling (COUN 695, or COUN 895),
- 3 undergraduate credits in human services (HUMS 495), or
- 45 continuing education hours

Eligibility:
At least Sophomore standing.
Minimum GPA of 2.7 or above (Some programs
require a 3.0 GPA.)
