ABOUT THE CITY OF JONKOPING

Jonkoping is the tenth largest municipality in Sweden, with a population of 120,000 and centre of a labour market region with some 350,000 inhabitants.

The city is located near the core of a triangle linking the three largest Swedish cities: Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo. Jonkoping is therefore a natural hub of commerce and industry. Its geographic position, the University and the region's burgeoning economy are contributing to the rapid growth of the city.

The whole region is characterized by a dynamic, can-do spirit in education, entrepreneurship and business. Jonkoping is a hub of communications, with a modern infrastructure for transport and logistics, data- and telecommunications.

Jonkoping is easy to reach by train, plane, bus or car. The University campus is centrally located in the city, with shops, cafes, shopping and entertainment a stone's throw away. The great outdoors is also within easy reach, offering forests, mountains, lookout points, lakes and the shores of Lake Vattern.
