Student Eligibility Standards
The goal of this UAB Presidential Study Away Scholarship is to encourage more UAB students to participate in
Study Away programs which will ultimately expand students’ world views by giving them experiences beyond the typical classroom setting. It
is our hope to offer this scholarship program to those students who would not otherwise have the financial capabilities of participating in
study away.
A student eligible for this scholarship program will demonstrate the following academic attributes:
- Students must be Full-Time.
- Students cannot be on probation.
- Students must have at least Sophomore standing.
- Students must maintain a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.7.
- Students must return to UAB for at least one semester before graduation. This will give them adequate time to complete their
re-entry project as described in the next sections.
- Students having already received this scholarship are eligible to re-apply should they be planning on either a) studying for a
longer period of time or b) studying in a different location than when they first received the scholarship.
