UAB Piano Series featuring Sa Chen 4:00 pm, Alys Stephens Center Reynolds-Kirschbaum Recital Hall

“Introduction to Spanish for Health Care Professionals 101” 12:00 pm — 1:00 pm, UAB School of Nursing, Rm. G020
Take part in one of the ongoing mini Spanish lessons that are offered by the UAB School of Nursing and also have some fun!!
Cricket Exposition 7:00 pm — 8:30 pm, Campus Recreation Center Center Court Gym
Come learn the basics of cricket. This exposition will include 30-45 minutes of demonstration and will allow an hour of play time. Cricket is a bat-and-ball team sport played on a roughly elliptical grass field. Cricket originated in its modern form in England and is popular mainly in the present and former members of the Commonwealth. All equipment is provided. All CRCT members are welcome, event is free and no pre-registration is required.

Aztec dance is a high energy community dance for all ages and abilities. This dance has roots in the Aztec tradition, and each dance tells a story symbolic of fire, water and other elements. UAB Department of Anthropology will present a lecture by renowned Egyptologist Barry Kemp, a professor of Egyptology at Cambridge University and a fellow of the British Academy.

21st Century Slavery in Sudan: Living Proof 7:30 pm — 9:00 pm, Hill University Center Alumni Auditorium
Simon Aban Deng, a native of the Shiluk Kingdom in southern Sudan, is a refugee from Sudan and a survivor of child slavery. Today he is an American citizen, working as a lifeguard on Coney Island and leading the struggle to stop genocide in Sudan. Sponsored by the UAB Interculture Committee.
